Every author has the right to protect the expression of her or his original works. In compliance with criteria established in the ADPIC and other international treaties, Costa Rica has established laws which grant protection to authors and other persons, including artists, interpreters, and executors, entitled to "related rights."

TRADEMARES offers legal services for the registration, maintenance, and defense of copyrights and related rights before civil and criminal courts in Costa Rica and the rest of Central America.

REQUIREMENTS

NATIONAL ROYALTIES AND RELATED RIGHT REGISTRY

  1. Initial registration request.
  2. Power-of attorney documents.
  3. Documents of assignment of right, in case the request is filed by a third party.
  4. Sworn declaration of authorship.
